Consultation on zero carbon school buildings
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) have just published their consultation document on zero carbon schools. The aim is to deliver zero carbon schools by 2016. The application of solar control/energy saving films can help achieve this target by rejecting as much as 79% of solar energy which would normally pass through the windows into classrooms.
It takes three times more energy (air conditioning costs) to cool down areas.
The application of window film can pay for itself in time by reducing the cost of air conditioning.
